Whether your leather care is suitable for the leather of your bag is usually stated on the leather care product. A care product based on beeswax is a natural option that can be used especially for smooth leather.

  • Gusti Beeswax

The use of wax for leather items is important to keep them in good condition.

We are pleased to introduce our Gusti Beeswax, which we produce in our own facility. This leather balm is made from natural ingredients and makes your leather shinier, more water-repellent, and longer-lasting.

  • How do we make our Gusti Beeswax?

We are very transparent about our production process and ensure that our customers are satisfied with the high-quality products they receive.

To make our beeswax, we first heat sunflower oil. Then we add natural beeswax to the oil and let it melt. Once the beeswax has melted, we add a natural honey aroma to the mixture and blend all three ingredients until they are fully combined. Then we pour the mixture into metal containers and let it cool and thicken.

Then our beeswax is ready for use!

  • How can I apply beeswax to leather products?

Properly care for your leather items by following these 3 simple steps:

    • Thoroughly clean the surface with a damp cloth to remove dirt

    • Apply Gusti Beeswax with a clean cloth and gently rub it in

    • Use another towel to remove excess wax from your leather item

Sit back and admire your shiny and smooth leather companion!

  • Tips for working with leather wax

Leather wax enhances the appearance of leather. However, it's important to know how to care for your leather friend with beeswax.

Avoid applying too much beeswax, as this can lead to a buildup on the surface and cause your leather products to get dirty faster.

  • Why is beeswax good for leather?

Beeswax has natural water-repellent properties and is therefore the best choice for protecting your leather products. It prevents the leather from absorbing moisture and slows down the wear of the leather. Beeswax helps the leather retain its shape and additionally gives it a radiant shine. It is easy to use and thus the best way to keep your leather in excellent condition.

  • Shampoo for leather

Whether it's your handbags, wallets, travel bags, or any other leather accessory - you can easily clean them at home. Give your favorites the extra care they need with our new leather cleaning product. The revolutionary shampoo spray not only cleans leather products but also creates a thin protective layer against dust at the same time.

    How is it applied?

Spray the shampoo onto the leather surface and gently rub it in with the brush. The soft bristles of the brush remove dirt without scratching or damaging your leather items. Additionally, the fragrant shampoo helps reduce the leather smell and gives your leather items an aromatic scent. You can use the shampoo for your smooth leather, nubuck/suede, or fabric products.

Please note that the product cannot be used to remove oil stains from the leather surface.

  • Water-repellent spray

Leather products can get water stains or discolorations when they come into contact with water. Take care of your leather accessories by applying our water-repellent spray. It protects your leather handbags, jackets, and shoes from dirt and moisture. The spray preserves the quality and appearance of your leather accessories and keeps them in optimal condition. It is easy to apply and very effective in protecting leather products from wet conditions.

    Application of the water-repellent spray

Wipe your leather handbag, shoes, or jacket with a clean, soft cloth. Now spray the product evenly onto the surface of the leather products, keeping a distance of about 30 cm between the nozzle and the leather. Let the spray dry for at least 20 minutes before using the products.

Why does my bag smell so strong?

Are you looking forward to the unique leather smell when unpacking and then have to wrinkle your nose because it's a bit too strong? Don't worry, that can happen, after all, our leather is a natural product that is characterized by its ecological production. Regular use of your bag will cause the intense smell to disappear, leaving only the characteristic leather smell. If that's too long for you, you can quickly help yourself with small scented sachets, e.g., made of lavender.

Why does my bag have stains?

Again, the first rule is: Stay cool! Because these stains are not bad at all and are easy to remove. They are sebum marks. Leather is a natural product that can naturally re-grease, which then causes these unsightly white edges. Here too, a cloth or sponge helps, but this time completely dry. Gently rub over the stains, and like magic, the stain disappears very quickly.

  • Just bought new and already scratched?

Our leather comes from free-range goats in India. In the steppe, there are many dangers for their skin, such as thorn bushes. Once caught on them and - ZACK! - there's a scratch. But this only shows once again how natural our products are. If such a scratch bothers you a lot, grab a leather care product based on beeswax and a cloth or small sponge. Lightly moisten the cloth or sponge and make sure it doesn't get too wet. Then dab the beeswax carefully onto the spot and rub it in. The beeswax causes the spot to darken slightly, making the scratch no longer visible. This effect enhances the individual look and charm of your bag. Note: Applying a beeswax care product also serves as additional impregnation. However, this makes the leather a bit darker.

  • Why do I see so many threads?

Our bags are handmade. Occasionally, it may happen that the threads at the seams are not cut and protrude. Here too, the simplest solution is: Do it yourself! (Or the man!). Just grab your nail scissors from the bathroom and carefully cut off the threads. But be careful not to get too close to the seams, otherwise they might come undone.

  • Help, my leather bag is greasy!

If your leather bag is a little greasy, there's no need to worry. Most of the time, the grease can be easily rubbed off with a dry and clean cotton cloth. If a little more work is needed, you can put your bag in the oven at 50°C for up to 60 minutes to dry out the grease. Afterwards, it's best to wipe it again with dish soap water and re-grease it. On warm, sunny days, you can also place the bag in the sun to reduce the grease.

  • Your studs are rusty or sticky?

This problem can also be solved with a few simple means: With some water, scouring powder, and cotton swabs, both rust and glue or grease can be removed from the studs. Simply take some scouring powder with the moistened cotton swab and gently rub it over the dirty studs. Gradually, the studs will become clean again and shine at least as much as they did at the beginning!

  • My leather bag is staining! What to do?

Just like new jeans, your new leather products can also rub off at the beginning. To be safe, you should combine Studio bags with dark clothing shortly after purchase! This way, you reduce the risk of marks on your light-colored items. It's best to first test with a light cloth to see if your leather product rubs off. Rub several times dry and then with a very slightly damp cloth over the leather. Warmth and moisture promote rubbing off, so it makes sense to protect your product from moisture with a suitable waterproofing spray afterward. Overall, you can counteract the rubbing off of your leather bag with the right and regular leather care.
